At his weekly news conference today , Steelers Head Coach Mike Tomlin talked about some of the reasons why the team did not “secure victory” over the Detroit Lions. The two teams played to a 16-16 tie Sunday afternoon.
Tomlin said one element that needed improvement was the special teams, as they did not generate enough big plays despite having great opportunities.
He added that the offense did not win the ball possession battle, especially during overtime when the Steelers offense turned the ball over twice.
On the Covid-19 front, Ben Roethlisberger remains in on the team’s Covid-19 list, but Tomlin said that Ben will be given a chance to play, provided he has the required number of negative tests. Until that time, though, they will prepare for their game against the LA Chargers on Sunday night as if Mason Rudolph will start at QB.
You can hear the Steelers/Chargers game Sunday night at 6:20 on WDAD 100.3 FM and AM 1450.
