The Indiana School Board will hold its only meeting of November tonight, and an assessment of a school building that burned in April of this year will be on the agenda.
On April 16th of this year, fire crews were called out to the Eisenhower Elementary School for a fire that destroyed two modular classrooms and caused significant smoke and water damage to the rest of the building. The school has been closed since then, with students attending classes at the Junior High complex. Tonight, the board will take a look at a proposal from Buchart Horn Architects to perform a building assessment of the school. That proposal will be up for approval.
A second proposal from Buchart Horn Architects will go before the board tonight. It is to authorize the company to start the bidding and design process for the renovation of the East Pike office area with a new HVAC system. The contract will come back to the board for final approval.
Also on the agenda is the authorization of CJL Engineering to proceed with the design work and creation of the bid documents for the replacement of the administration building HVAC system. Again, the final contract will be brought back to the board.
The board will also deal with several resignations of support staff and professional personnel, along with some long term substitute assignments.
The meeting will start at 7:00 tonight in the district boardroom.
