The Penguins are back home tonight to meet the Florida Panthers at PPG Paints Arena.
Having lost five of their last six games and now sitting in a last place tie with the Islanders in the NHL’s Metropolitan Division, the Pens are looking for some upward momentum, and that could come with the return of defensemen Marcus Pettersson and Chad Ruhwedel. Both practiced with their teammates for the first time yesterday as they continue their road back from covid-19. They were labeled “game-time decisions” by assistant coach Todd Reirden.
Pettersson and Ruhwedel also skated before practice with Evgeni Malkin, who is continuing to work on his return from offseason knee surgery.
Sidney Crosby, Brian Dumoulin, and head coach Mike Sullivan remain in covid isolation.
Tonight’s game airs at 6:00 on 92.5 FM U92, with the puck scheduled to drop shortly after 7:00.
