HIGH SCHOOOL VOLLEYBALL
The season came to a close last night for the District 6 runner-up Homer-Center girls’ volleyball team, which fell to Cochranton, 3-2, in the first round of the state playoffs.
Cochranton won the first two sets but Homer-Center rallied to take the next two. The Wildcats scored the first three points of the final set, but Cochranton then sprinted to the win with a 15-1 burst, winning the set 15-4.
Homer-Center finishes the season 17-3.
HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL
The United School Board last night approved a cooperative arrangement with Blacklick Valley to merge the two school districts’ football teams. They’ll be known as the United Valley Lions, and compete in the Heritage Conference.
