For the first time in many years, Clymer Borough Council will increase taxes as part of the borough’s budget.
At Tuesday night’s meeting, council approved the 2022 budget for advertisement. The budget will contain a half-mil tax increase from 3.4 mils to 3.9 mils. Borough manager Sonya Schrenkel talked about what the extra money would be used for.
The proposed budget balances at $582,120. The budget will be up for final adoption at their December 14 meeting.
In other business, it was announced that the ribbon cutting for the borough’s new memorial park will be held tomorrow at 4:00 PM. The borough is also planning to hold their light-up night on November 26th at the new park.
