IUP has announced that one of its vice presidents has started a scholarship fund that is intended to help out international students.
The university announced the creation of the Osseiran-Hanna Endowed Scholarship, which was funded by a gift from Khatmeh Osseiran-Hanna of $25,000. A resident of Indiana, Osserian-Hanna is originally from Lebanon, and came to the United States at the age of 11. She said she wanted to establish the scholarship for several reasons, including giving access to financial aid that foreign students may not be able to get in their home countries.
Osserian-Hanna is the current vice president for University Advancement. She came to IUP as the interim vice president for University Advancement in 2017, and was named the permanent vice-president in 2018. Her gift is part of the IUP Imagine Unlimited Campaign, which has raised more than $80 million for the university.
