State police are investigating the sexual assaults of two teenage girls at a residence along Hancock Street in Clymer. Both incidents took place shortly before 9:30 AM last Monday. The victims are a 13-year-old girl from Northern Cambria and a 14-year-old girl from Clymer. No further details or identification of a suspect have been released.
State police have issued an arrest warrant for Thomas Ray after an alleged assault at a location along Maple Street in White Township. A 56-year-old woman reported being assaulted and strangled by Ray on October 19th at around 12:30 PM. Ray is 52 years old and from Blairsville. Charges of simple assault and harassment have been filed before District Judge Guy Haberl.
State troopers were summoned to Marion Center High School Friday afternoon for a threat written the day before on a restroom stall. The male student was quickly identified by school administrators and security officers and removed from the school. Police determined that there was no danger to anyone at the school.
Police are investigating a burglary last week at a home along Main Street in Plumville. It happened between 4 o’clock Wednesday afternoon and 4 PM the next day. A thief pried open the hinge on a locked basement door and stole a table saw and a chop saw, both valued at $100. The burglar took the time to re-secure the door hinge before fleeing the scene undetected.
Police are also looking into the theft of a pickup truck load of firewood Thursday afternoon in Montgomery Township. It happened along Cherry Tree Road. The firewood is valued at $50.
State police report a new rash of identity theft cases in which false unemployment claims were filed using the private information of unwitting individuals.
The latest group of victims include a 65-year-old man and a 60-year-old woman, both from Laurel Run Road in Cherryhill Township; a 67-year-old man living along Shelly Drive in White Township; and a 73-year-old woman from Ivory Lane in White Township.
