The average cost of a gallon of gas in Pennsylvania and across the nation is starting to stabilize.
Triple-A reports that the current national average is $3.42 a gallon, which is holding steady from the day before, but is two cents higher than last week at this time and twenty cents higher than last month. Last year at this time, gas prices were at $2.11 a gallon, as there was a lack of demand due to the pandemic. While total domestic gasoline stocks decreased by 1.5 million barrels to 214.2 million barrels, gasoline demand rose from 9.32 million barrels a day to 9.5 million barrels a day.
Pennsylvania’s average is now $3.57 a gallon, which is holding steady from yesterday and from last week at this time. Pennsylvania’s average last month was 23 cents cheaper, and last year, the average cost of a gallon of gas was $2.43 a gallon.
Indiana county’s average cost is now $3.54 a gallon, which ties it with Westmoreland and Armstrong Counties for the lowest average in the region. Cambria County’s average is $3.56 a gallon, while both Clearfield and Jefferson have averages of $3.57 a gallon.
Gasbuddy.com reports that gas prices in Indiana Borough, White Township and Shelocta Borough this morning is at $3.55 a gallon. In Homer City, the Sheetz station reported $3.59 a gallon gas prices, while Kwik Fill is reporting $3.55 a gallon. Clymer is also reporting a $3.59 a gallon gas price. While both Sheetz gas stations in Blairsville report $3.55 a gallon prices, VP Fuels reports a $3.49 a gallon price.
