It looks like the recent surge in gas prices is slowing down.
As of this morning, the average cost of a gallon of gas in the nation is $3.41, according to Triple-A. That represents a one-cent increase from yesterday and a two-cent increase from last week at this time, but last month, gas prices were 21 cents cheaper.
This represents the smallest weekly increase in a month. Triple A says that there has been a dip in demand for gasoline, so that has slowed the increases a little bit.
Pennsylvania’s average is now at $3.57 a gallon. That has remained steady over the last day and week, but is 24 cents more than last month at this time.
Indiana county’s gas price average checks in at $3.55 a gallon and once again it is in the middle of the averages in the region. The lowest in the region is in Armstrong County at $3.53 a gallon. Westmoreland County has a $3.54 a gallon average. Cambria is just above Indiana’s average at $3.56 a gallon. Both Jefferson and Clearfield Counties each have a $3.58 a gallon.
Centre County has the lowest county-wide average in the state at $3.50 a gallon, while Warren and Forest Counties have the highest at $3.69 a gallon each.
Gas prices in Indiana Borough and White Township have a $3.55 a gallon average. Homer City and Clymer have prices at $3.59 a gallon. While most of Blairsville has gas at $3.55 a gallon, VP Fuels continues to be the lowest reported price in the region at $3.49 a gallon.
