The Steelers worked out yesterday in preparation for Monday night’s game against the Bears.
Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger held his weekly media chat, and talked about the play of his young offensive teammates. He said running back Najee Harris is getting better every day, and not just when he has the ball in his hands.
One of Big Ben’s best friends is now-retired center Maurkice Pouncey. This season, rookie Kendrick Green is the center, a position he did not play much of in college at Wisconsin. Roethlisberger says Green is growing into his new role.
Roethlisberger also singled out rookie tackle Dan Moore for his play Sunday against Browns’ All-Pro end Myles Garrett, and he talked about tight end Zach Gentry, a former Michigan quarterback who is finally seeing extended playing time after developing at his new position in the pros. He said Gentry reminds him of former Steelers tight end Matt Spaeth.
