UPDATE: The Steelers have traded disgruntled linebacker Melvin Ingram III to Kansas City. He had been upset with his playing time after signing in the offseason to bolster the Steelers’ linebacker depth. the former All-Pro was traded in exchange for a sixth round choice in next year’s NFL Draft.
ORIGINAL STORY:
Coach Mike Tomlin will hold his news conference at noon today and is expected to give an update on the concussion-like symptoms suffered by kicker Chris Boswell after he was hit while attempting to pass on a fake field goal on Sunday against the Browns.
The Steelers will reportedly sign defensive tackle Khalil Davis to their practice squad after the Indianapolis colts released him. Davis will in effect be replacing his twin brother, Carlos Davis, who was placed on injured reserve late last week with a knee injury. The Steelers wanted to sign Khalil a couple of weeks ago off waivers from Tampa Bay, but the Colts had a higher position on the waiver list and got him first.
Today is NFL trade deadline say, with teams having until 4 PM to make a deal. Steelers linebacker Melvin Ingram III may be dealt. He is unhappy with his role on the team and missed Sunday’s game with what was said to be a groin injury.
