Despite getting Sidney Crosby and Jeff Carter back onto the ice on Saturday against the Devils, the Penguins lost their third straight game. Now they have more covid-19 concerns.
Defensemen Marcus Pettersson and Chad Ruhwedel have been placed in covid-19 protocol, joining their fellow blue-liner, Kris Letang. The Pens did not announce whether Pettersson or Ruhwedel had tested positive. Both are vaccinated, as are all of the Penguins players and coaches. Defenseman P-O Joseph has been called up from Wilkes Barre-Scranton.
The Penguins are off until a Thursday night game against the Flyers at PPG Paints Arena.
