State Representative Jim Struzzi is also commenting on the recent remarks about the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative made by attorney general and gubernatorial candidate Josh Shapiro.
In a news release, Struzzi asked Shapiro to use his position as Attorney General to stop RGGI’s implementation or at least delay it. Shapiro recently said he had some concerns about the governor’s unilateral action to have the state join the 11-state compact. In his recent visit to Indiana County, Shaprio said that he did not want to displace workers, and he was also on record as saying that RGGI should be brought before the legislature.
Struzzi said that if Shapior was “sincere about his concerns, he has the power to, at the very least, stall the initiative.” He added that Shapiro acknowledged that the governor’s executive action to join the state to RGGI was unconstitutional.
