A nice crowd turned out to the KCAC last night for the Heritage Conference Volleyball Championship Night, and they saw three great matches.
Homer-Center eliminated Cambria Heights in the first best-of-three semifinal, 25-18 and 25-12. It was much closer in the other semi, with West Shamokin knocking off Marion Center in two sets by identical scores of 25-23.

In the final, which was best-of-five, West Shamokin took the first game, 25-18, but Homer Center then won the next three, 26-24, 25-16, and, for the championship, 25-23.
The Indiana girls lost their WPIAL volleyball playoff game to Beaver, 3-1 at Hampton High. For Indiana, Emily Madey had 24 assists, 9 digs, and 2 aces. Lizzy Lubold had 8 blocks, 5 aces, and 3 kills. Abbie Huey and Maycie Lorelli led in kills with 10 and 9, respectively. Lauren Brocious had 7 digs, and Lily Cunningham had 6 digs.
JUNIOR HIGH FOOTBALL
The Indiana Junior High football team won their final game of the season, 38-12 over Greensburg Salem. Indiana’s Michael Zimmerman threw three touchdown passes, hitting Levi Porter for a 25-yard touchdown pass, Roman Jones from 16 yards, and Jackson Albert for a 22-yard score. Albert also scored on runs of 6 and 30 yards. Porter, Dominic Fanella, and Zimmerman also ran for extra points and Zimmerman hit Danny Trevorrow for another conversion. On defense, Tyler Rifendifer had a sack. Indiana finishes a fine season at 7-1.
