On Wednesday night, the White Township Supervisors approved a request to serve samples for the upcoming Country Faire Christmas event at S&T Bank Arena on December 11th.
The request came from organizer Tammy Curry, who said that those selling alcoholic beverages to take home want to have their potential customers sample the beverages. She said that the vendors would follow all LCE guidelines as to how much someone can have to drink during the event.
The vote went 3-2 to approve the request, with Eugene Gemmell and Gail McCauley voting against it. McCauley said she was not comfortable with the idea of alcohol sales in S&T Bank Arena.
Supervisor Sandi Gillette voted in favor of the motion, saying that these sales are just a part of modern culture.
In other business, the supervisors approved holding a public workshop for the 2022 budget on November 17th at 10:00 AM. Later that same day, the supervisors will hold their only meeting for November, which will start at 1:00 PM
