The Pirates yesterday named Indianapolis pitching coach Joel Hanrahan the organization’s Danny Murtaugh Coach of the Year, given to the team’s minor league coach who has had the biggest impact on the development of talent.
The Bucs also named the High-A Greensboro coaching staff the staff of the year.
Indianapolis outfielder Bligh Madras, Altoona second baseman Josh Bissonette, Greensboro shortstop Aaron Shackelford, and Brandenton pitcher Logan Hoffman were named their team’s Manny Sanguillen Teammates of the Year,
Today, the Pirates will announce the winners of their Willie Stargell Slugger of the Year, Kent Tekulve Reliever of the Year, Bill Mazeroski Defender of the Year and Omar Moreno Baserunner of the Year. Tomorrow, they will name their Honus Wagner Player of the Year and Bob Friend Pitcher of the Year.
