The weekend football slate also has two big college games tomorrow on our Renda Broadcasting stations.
On 92.5 FM U92, 5-1 IUP tackles undefeated 5th-ranked Cal U. in the 12th Annual Coal Bowl, with IUP coming off a blowout win over then 6th-ranked Slippery Rock and Cal having rested last week when their game against Clarion was canceled.
Coach Paul Tortorella says there’s no chance his team will have a letdown after the Slippery Rock game.
The airtime tomorrow for the Coal Bowl will be 1:30.
On WCCS tomorrow, 5-1 Pitt takes on ACC power Clemson, which is 4-2. It’s the Tigers first visit ever to Heinz Field. Kickoff is at 3:30, with the pregame airing at 1:30.
Seventh-ranked Penn State returns to action tomorrow at Beaver Stadium after a week off. The 7-1 Nittany Lions will take on 2-5 Illinois, and coach James Franklin may get starting quarterback Sean Clifford back. Clifford suffered an unspecified upper body injury two weeks ago against Iowa. He threw some passes this week in practice, but Franklin has not said if he will be able to play.
Penn State will also be playing without defensive line stalwart PJ Mustipher, who is out for the season with a leg injury.
