State police have confirmed that one person was killed this morning in a vehicle crash in Brush Valley Township.
Indiana County 911 initially called Brush Valley Fire Department, Citizens Ambulance and State Police to the intersection of Route 56 and Sunflower Lane for a crash at 5:53 this morning. Armagh and Homer City fire departments are also on-scene providing assistance. Cherryhill Township and Creekside fire departments are on standby. One person was trapped in the vehicle and one person was killed. The victim’s name has not been released. First responders are still on the scene at this time.
The area is expected to be closed for a few hours as State Police Accident Reconstruction Teams are making their way to the area to continue investigation into the crash. No word yet on the exact cause of the crash. School bus traffic is not expected to be a factor around the scene, as the United School District is not in session today due to a planned power outage by Penelec affecting customers in that area.
