While the Love of Life 5K is going on rain or shine, one event in Saltsburg has decided to postpone due to the anticipated bad weather.
Accuweather is predicting more rain for today, and that has forced organizers of the Saltsburg Oktoberfest to postpone the festival until October 23rd from 1-9 PM. The festival on the 23rd will still feature food and beverages, a kids area with crafts, sand art and activities, and various contests including a beer stein-holding contest, a beard a moustache contest and a cornhole tournament. While the event is being delayed, there are a few advantages to the delay. The list of performers as of this date included Al Craigie and Alec Henderson, but more musicians can now be added to the schedule. There is also more time for local crafters to submit applications to be a part of the crafters area.
Anyone who wants to enter the contests, or to apply to be a part of the crafters area or to perform on stage can call Michelle for more information at 724-840-0167. Attendees are also encouraged to check out the Saltsburg Oktoberfest Facebook Page for further updates.
