State police arrested one person on assault charges for an incident late Monday night in White Township. Troopers say they were dispatched to a home along Route 110 for a domestic incident that happened between 43-year-old Terry Stiffey of Indiana and his long-time girlfriend. Stiffey fled the scene and was found later on at the Homer City Sheetz. It was discovered that he drove under the influence of alcohol, and as he was taken into custody, police found drug paraphernalia on his person. Charges of simple assault and harassment have been filed against Stiffey, and DUI charges are awaiting the result of a blood test.
State police reported an incident that happened along Oakland Avenue on Homecoming Weekend. Troopers say they were dispatched at 6:29 AM on Sunday to the 1700 block of Oakland Avenue, where they encountered 34-year-old Wayne Sias of Indiana walking along the street holding a burning t-shirt and walking towards the Sunoco Gas Station. Multiple passersby called 911 in fear of danger because of him approaching the gas station. When asked why he lit the t-shirt on fire, Sias responded that he no longer wanted it. A non-traffic citation was filed with District Judge Susanne Steffee’s office.
