Kasperi Kapanen scored two goals as the Penguins beat the Detroit Red Wings, 5-1, yesterday in their third preseason game.
Jeff Carter, Kris Letang, and Danton Heinen scored the other Penguins goals. Heinen was an off-season free agent acquisition who played last year for Anaheim, scoring seven goals with seven assists in 43 games.
Heinen worked on the top line after the Penguins revealed that Jake Guentzel has tested positive for covid-19. Guentzel is fully vaccinated.
