The Penguins were back on the ice at Cranberry yesterday, with a preseason game at Buffalo scheduled tomorrow night. Coach Mike Sullivan had no real update on Zach Aston-Reese, who is out with covid-19, and forward Radim Zohorna missed practice yesterday with illness, but Sullivan said it was not covid.
Sullivan divided the team into two groups, with the top group being players contending for a spot with the Penguins and the other group comprised mostly of players ticketed for Wilkes-Barre-Scranton.
Sullivan says there will be opportunities for players in the second group to move up to the first, based on how they play in practices and in games.
The Penguins open the season at two-time defending Stanley Cup champion Tampa Bay on October 12th.
