On last night’s edition of Hawk Talk on U92, IUP coach Paul Tortorella talked with Jack Benedict about Saturday’s win over Mercyhurst, and about this week’s Homecoming game against Gannon.
Tortorella praised IUP fans for turning out for the first two home games and said he’s anticipating a big Homecoming crowd.
Despite the 48-13 win on Saturday in Erie, IUP fell a spot in the NCAA Division II coaches poll, to a tie with Cal U for number 25.
The top five teams in the AFCA poll are unchanged, West Florida taking all 30 first place votes. They’re followed by Northwest Missouri, Ferris State, Valdosta State, and Colorado School of Mines.
There are four PSAC teams in the poll this week, led by No. 7 Slippery Rock. Shepherd, which was upset at home by Kutztown, fell to number 21.
