The River Valley School Board last night had numerous outbursts from the board members about items being presented on the agenda at the last minute.
When it came to a vote on the bills, Holly Hall had numerous questions concerning the bills that she claimed were presented to the board minutes before the meeting on the BoardDocs app and were not discussed at the committee. When she wanted to ask questions, she was told that she was not allowed as they had moved to vote on the bills’ approval.
Later in the meeting, Hall said that she was disappointed that she was not allowed to ask her questions.
Superintendent Phillip Martel said that Hall’s questions should have been brought up during the committee meeting instead of the voting meeting.
Some of the items that were approved last night included an addendum to an existing agreement with Twisted Computing for managing and supporting the district’s camera servers, software, infrastructure and installation, which comes to a one-time cost of $34,000 for the life of the contract. Board President Rick Harper said that this will help replace some out-dated technology.
The money for the contract will come from the district’s one-time ESSER funds.
