GOLF
The Indiana boys golfers lost twice to Latrobe last week, by only three strokes each time. Yesterday, they were even closer, but could not get the win, falling 212-213 to Hempfield at the Indiana Country Club. They’ve now lost twice to Hempfield this season, by a combined total of three strokes.
Indiana’s Trevor Todd was match medalist, shooting a two-over 38. Harrison Martineau and Alex Holuta also had good afternoons, both shooting 40, while Philip Bell was also in the forties, with his 42 highlighted by an eagle on the par-5 fifth hole.
Indiana’s girls trailed Franklin Regional by 37 strokes but outpaced Gateway by 50 strokes yesterday in a tri-match at Murrysville Golf Club. Jenny Todd, Ally Conrad, and Hope Cook all shot 52 for Indiana, and Addy Raykes was also in the fifties, with a 57. All five Franklin Regional golfers were in the forties.
VOLLEYBALL
West Shamokin beat Indiana, 3-1 last night in a non-conference game. For Indiana, Emily Madey had 25 assists and 14 digs. Abbie Huey had 11 kills, Katie Kovalchick had six blocks and four kills, and Lauren Brocious had 12 digs. West Shamokin also won the JV match, 2-1.
