Steelers tight end Eric Ebron landed on the injury list yesterday, missing practice due to a hamstring injury. He was joined on the sidelines by defensive tackle Carlos Davis, who has a sore knee. Linebacker Robert Spillane was a full practice participant after being limited by a shin injury on Wednesday.
The Steelers’ home opener on Sunday kicks off at one o’clock on WDAD. Because it’s is the first game in two years for which Heinz Field will be open to full capacity, the team yesterday issued some reminders to fans.
All fans must have a mobile ticket downloaded to their phone and saved to Apple or Google Wallet, which are available on the Steelers’ mobile app. Cash will not be accepted at the stadium for any transaction, although there are machines which will convert cash to credit. Fans are encouraged to arrive early, even though the gates will not open until 11 AM. Some parking lots will open as early as 8 AM. Everyone at Heinz Field will be required to wear a mask in any indoor areas. Other restrictions are posted at steelers.com.
The new guidelines are the same as for Pitt football games. Pitt plays at home on Saturday against Western Michigan.
