The Penguins have announced the start of training camp, and it will be preceded by a development camp for Pens’ prospects.
Twenty-four players have been invited to the development camp this weekend at the training complex in Cranberry. Among them is top prospect Sam Poulin. The camp will run from Saturday through next Tuesday at 10 AM each day, and it is open to the public.
Training camp will begin on September 23rd, of course without injured stars Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin. The first exhibition game is September 27th against Columbus at PPG Paints Arena. They will play six games in the preseason before opening the regular season on the road at two-time defending Stanley Cup champion Tampa Bay on October 12th.
Former Penguins forward Mark Jankowski has signed a tryout contract with New Jersey.
