Several different hearings are on the docket for today at Indiana County Court.
One of those hearings will be for a writ of habeas corpus for 37-year-old Tiffany Wissinger of Indiana, who was charged with three counts of manufacture, delivery or possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, fraudulent procurement of drugs for herself and others and two counts of insurance fraud for an incident that was reported on July 20th of 2018.
Wissinger is also involved in another case in Blair County, where she is charged with administering drugs without a physician’s order, reckless endangerment and failure to keep records. Reports say that Wissinger in this second incident was working as a nurse at UPMC Altoona when she allegedly administered the sedative Propofol to a patient who was restless during an MRI. She was not given orders to dispense the drug. One witness overheard her saying “you did not see this” and “this is how Michael Jackson died.”
Wissinger is no longer employed by UPMC. She faces a preliminary hearing in Blair County on September 29th and is free on $15,000 unsecured bail.
Jury selection is also slated for today for a man charged with aggravated assault. Court documents say that 57-year-old David Tyrone Henry is charged with two counts of aggravated assault-attempts to cause bodily injury in an incident that dates back to August 11th of last year.
Several sentencing hearings are also scheduled for today, many of them for DUI or drug-related crimes.
