PSAC football returned last night, and Slippery Rock won a heart-stopper at Wayne State in Detroit. Final score, 24-21, as the Rock trailed three times in the game and had to stop Wayne State on four downs inside the five yard line with less than a minute to play. Rather than kick a game-tying field goal from the three, Wayne State went for the win and was stopped for a two-yard loss to seal the win for Slippery Rock.
Cal U beat Fairmont State on the road, 23-14.
Seton Hill opened with a 16-14 win over Wheeling as the Cardinals bobbled the snap on a potential game-winning 26-yard field goal.
Gannon beat Northwood, 28-21 in overtime.
East Stroudbsurg sprinted away from Pace, 35-14.
Shepherd quarterback Tyson Bagent threw for 346 yards and four touchdowns as the Panthers squeezed by Ohio Dominican, 35-31.
American International dropped Millersville, 14-9.
Tonight, West Chester travels to Massachusetts to play Bentley University.
IUP opens next Saturday, the 11th, against Kutztown, which plays Assumption at home tomorrow.
