While there are just a handful of outages this morning in Indiana County, emergency crews were busy yesterday keeping up with calls that power lines and trees that were down.
Between 6:00 PM and 7:56 PM, Indiana County 911 reported 10 calls for either trees or power lines down on area roadways. Those areas included Rayne, Young, and Armstrong Townships. As of right now, Penelec reports 19 outages in Indiana County, with nine of them in Rayne Township, seven in Banks Township and the rest in Conemaugh and White Townships. Power is expected to be restored for those customers by 4:00 this afternoon at the latest.
Meanwhile REA Energy is reporting nine of its cooperative members are without power this morning. Six were reported on Stadtmiller Road and the remaining three are on Grove Chapel Road to the east of Ernest. Fifty three REA customers were without power at one point during yesterday’s storms, with most of them restored late last night or early this morning.
Fire crews were also called out yesterday for a structure fire on Ridge Road. That brought out Glen Campbell, Rossiter and Commodore fire departments in Indiana County, and Punxsy-Central, Punxsy-Lindsey and Big Run Fire Departments in Jefferson County, along with Indiana County’s Hazmat team and Punxsy EMS. The call was put out at 5:18 PM.
Commodore Fire Department would be dispatched an hour later for a vehicle accident on Route 286 West In Green Township.
