On Friday, an Indiana man was ordered to serve seven year in state prison for multiple cases, including a drive-by shooting and a robbery in Chevy Chase.
21-year-old Thomas Lindsay III was sentenced this morning by Judge Michael Clark in three cases, and he had his probation revoked in a fourth. Lindsay was charged in connection with a robbery in the Chevy Chase neighborhood of White Township and a drive-by shooting on 3rd Street in Indiana Borough on June 23rd of last year. In the theft, he and two others allegedly forced his way into the home on Center Street, strip searched two people and robbed them of cash, cell phones, vape pens and a small amount of marijuana. Later that day, he fired three gunshots at a man on North Third Street from a moving vehicle. No injuries were reported.
In a third case, he was charged with corruption of minors, and in the fourth case, probation was revoked for a robbery charge. Judge Clark ruled that the sentences would run concurrently. Along with the 7 years in jail, he will serve five years of probation.
Also sentenced this morning was Jordan Lybarger of Indiana. He pleaded guilty to escape, resisting arrest, criminal mischief, simple assault, and possession of a controlled substance and of marijuana. He was ordered to serve one to two years of probation for each charge, but the sentences will run concurrently.
And Cyndi K-P Patz of Marion Center was sentenced this morning to nine months of house arrest followed by probation for seven years for theft by deception. Her guilty plea came in a case where she bilked a 92-year-old Marion Center man out of $100,000 by stealing his debit card and making numerous withdrawals and purchases.
