Indiana’s boys and girls golf teams opened the season with wins yesterday. The boys beat Norwin by six strokes, shooting a combined 210 to Norwin’s 216. Alex Holuta was the medalist, with a 36. Trevor Todd shot a 41 and Harrison Martineau a 42, Adam Cowburn a 45, and Gabe Nettleton and Michael Lubold each shot 46.
Indiana and Norwin tied with Penn Trafford last season for the WPIAL section title. Indiana plays at Penn Trafford today.
The Indiana girls beat Kiski Area, 216 to 232, yesterday, also at the Country Club. Ally Conrad led Indiana with a 48. Jenny Todd shot a 49, Addie Raykes a 55, Emily Teacher 64, and Izzy Slagle 68. Kiski’s Brianna Miller was medalist with a 44.
Indiana will visit Armstrong today at the Kittanning Country Club.
In the Heritage Conference, Northern Cambria defeated River Valley, 216-253. The Colts were led by medalist Brody Houser, with a 41. John Zemrose shot 42, Logan Parronish 43, Trevor Houser 44, Nathan Bolvin 46, and John Kirsch 51. For the Panthers, Niko Vadala scored a 43, Carson McCully a 45, Cameron reaugh 48, Chase Stuchal 58, Holden Fridley 59, and Cole Stuchal 62.
