The Penguins announced yesterday that Alec Schall will take over as the team’s Director of Hockey Operations.
Schall spent the last nine years as Director of Athlete Representation at LEGACY Global Sports – a full-service sports marketing firm for amateur and professional athletes. He will take part in scouting and recruiting clients, while serving as a liaison with professional teams and media.
Some notable players Schall represented were James van Riemsdyk, Alec Martinez, Connor Clifton, Joel Farabee and Luke Glendening. He’s also negotiated over $200 million in contracts for various clients.
Starting in the 2022-23 season the NHL will have advertising on the front of team jerseys after the league’s board of governors voted to approve jersey ads earlier this month. Ads will be featured in a three-inch-by-three-and-a-half-inch rectangle. The NHL has allowed ads on practice jerseys since 2010. It’s likely the placement of each advertisement on a jersey will be left up to individual teams.
