A man from Somerset will be back in Indiana County Court today for a Post-Conviction Relief Act Hearing.
52-year-old Woodrow Hicks Jr. will be in Indiana County Court today before Senior Judge William Martin for his hearing. Hicks was found guilty back in 2014 of statutory sexual assault, unlawful contact with a minor, corruption of minors, simple assault, fleeing or eluding police and criminal use of a communications facility in connection with an incident that went back to November of 2012. He was accused of trying to meet a 15-year-old girl for sex in White Township Iin November of that year.
In 2020, Hicks’ probation was revoked after some incidents at the Tomorrow’s Hope Health Center where he threatened to throw a resident off the balcony. He was also caught with pills not prescribed to him and on three different occasions, he had internet-capable devices on his person. He had also refused to comply with sex treatment counseling.
Hicks was sentenced in 2014 to five years in prison and five years of probation with the requirement that he register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.
