While the national gas price average is holding steady, Pennsylvania’s average continues to go up.
The national average, according to Triple-A, is $3.18 a gallon, while Pennsylvania’s average is ten cents higher. The $3.28 per gallon average is an increase of a penny from last week, and six cents from last month. At this time in 2020, the average gas price in Pennsylvania was $2.42 a gallon.
Over the last few days, the national average has gone down by a penny, with demand dropping from 9.78 million barrels a day to 9.43 million barrels a day since Monday. Additionally, total domestic gas stocks declined by 1.3 million barrels to 227.5 million barrels. Gas prices are expected to stay above $3.00 a gallon for the rest of the summer.
Indiana County’s average went up to $3.30 a gallon, but comparing the county to the surrounding area, it’s the lowest average. Clearfield and Armstrong County are reporting $3.31 a gallon averages, Westmoreland has a $3.32 a gallon average. Cambria has $3.33 a gallon and Jefferson has the highest at $3.35 a gallon.
Gasbuddy.com reports that gas prices in Indiana and Clymer are at $3.29 a gallon as of this morning, with prices in Homer City and Blairsville and at $3.35 a gallon.
