Pitt football coach Pat Narduzzi has added former Panther Eric Kasperowicz and former Steeler Kraig Urbik to his staff as volunteer coaches.
Kasperowicz won two state championship as head coach at Pine-Richland, including last season before he was dismissed by the school district because of alleged hazing in the program. He has denied the allegations and sued the school district and several officials for defamation of character. Recruited as a quarterback from North Hills, where he currently teaches, he earned three letters as a linebacker from 1994-1997.
Urbik was an assistant on Kasperowicz’s staff at Pine-Richland. He was the Steelers’ third-round draft pick in 2009 as an offensive guard and also played for the Bills and Dolphins in a nine-year NFL career.
