Members of the United School Board heard from some citizens concerned with face masks during their meeting Tuesday night.
The main concern, according to Superintendent Barbara Parkins, is with the rules that make masks mandatory on school buses. Parkins reminded people that it was a federal mandate that is in effect until mid-September, but there is the possibility that it could be extended.
In other business, the board approved hiring three new teachers and one new instructional aide. The board also approved the lists of volunteers, substitute teachers and supplemental positions in preparation for the new school year, which starts on August 25th.
