The Steelers stayed in Western PA to fill an open roster slot on Friday.
Former Pitt Panther and Woodland Hills standout Lafayette Pitts was signed on Friday. Pitts, a cornerback, will join his fifth NFL team since entering the league in 2016. He has appeared in 26 NFL regular-season games, playing 123 defensive snaps and 681 special-teams snaps between 2016-18 for Miami, Buffalo and Jacksonville.
After getting cut by the Bills at the end of the 2019 training camp, Pitts spent 2020 as part of the Colts and Bills organizations but never on an active roster.
