The Heritage Conference and WestPAC held their joint football media day at United’s Thomas J. Madill Field on Friday, and newcomer Cambria Heights won the Renda Media 2021 Heritage Conference Preseason Coaches Poll, with seven of the nine coaches giving the Highlanders a first-place vote.
Cambria Heights joined the conference to begin the 2021-22 school year after finishing 4-4 in its last regular season in the Laurel Highlands conference.
Marion Center, last year’s co-champions with Penns Manor, was picked to finish second in the poll. The Stingers were shut out by the Highlanders, 34-0, in the District 6 AA playoffs last year.
