PA Lottery officials announced that one of the multi-state lottery games that the PA Lottery takes part in will soon have drawings three days a week.
Powerball will start holding drawings on Monday beginning August 23rd. This will be in addition to the traditional Wednesday and Saturday drawings for the multi-state game. Powerball has also announce a new option called “double play,” where for an extra dollar, the same numbers can be played for a second drawing that will be streamed on the Powerball and PA Lottery websites. That separate drawing has a top prize of $10 million, and it is possible for someone to win cash in both games.
In a news release, PA Lottery Executive Director Drew Svitko called the changes a way to help the lottery give players larger jackpots that grow faster.
Proceeds from the Pennsylvania Lottery benefit older Pennsylvanians.
