The Pirates did something last night that no other team ever has done. They are the first team ever to come back to win a game after being no-hit for six innings and trailing by four or more runs.

Gregory Polanco had been taunted and harassed by Brewers fans in the right-field stands all game long, so his robbing Milwaukee of a walkoff home run in the 9th felt great, and the fact that he did it in support of pitcher David Bednar was especially sweet.
The Pirates’ longest-tenured player, Polanco is in his eighth season and hitting just .211, but he says he never wants to leave Pittsburgh. He is also the highest-paid Pirate, so he might not fit into the Bucs’ plans after this season.
Only one new listing on the weekly injury report by the Pirates director of sports medicine, Todd Tomczyk. That’s the loss of reliever Nick Mears, who is day-to-day after twisting his ankle Monday night when he jumped to avoid a comebacker to the mound and landed awkwardly.
Erik Gonzalez played shortstop and Colin Moran was at first base for Indianapolis in a rehab game last night. Gonzalez was 0-for-3 and Moran was 0-for-2.
Number-one overall draft choice Henry Davis made a big splash in his pro baseball debut yesterday, going 2-for-4 with a double and a home run for the Florida Complex League Pirates. Alas, the FCL Pirates lost both games of a doubleheader against the FCL Rays, 16-10 and 5-1. Davis did not play the second game.
