A 14-year-old Clymer-area boy was seriously injured and two other boys were hurt as well yesterday morning in a crash on Route 240 in Green Township.
The crash involving a 16-year-old driver happened near Lovejoy Road. State police say the driver became distracted and drifted over the center line, exiting the road and hitting a mailbox, then crossing Lovejoy Road and hitting an embankment and a tree.
The driver, who is from Clymer, was hurt but did not require treatment. A 16-year-old Clymer passenger was taken to IRMC for treatment of minor injuries. The 14-year-old, who lives along Route 553, was flown from the scene by Lifeflight helicopter and taken to Children’s Hospital in Pittsburgh.
