State police are issuing a warning concerning some scams that have been reported across the state.
The scams, according to Major Jeremy Richard, the director of the bureau of criminal investigation at the PSP, involve someone buying gift cards after being prompted by email, text or a message through social media. Richard said that scammers will use any number of schemes in order to get their would-be victims to provide them with gift cards.
Richard is encouraging everyone to keep their guard up and not be fooled by scammers.
Speaking of these scams, that is the topic of this week’s IRMC Poll Question: There seems to be a new scam attack almost every day. Have you been victimized by a scammer? You can vote at WCCSradio.com, WDADradio.com or CatCountry1063fm.com. All respondents remain anonymous.
