Firefighters were able to work quick and keep a grease fire from spreading further yesterday at a home in Blairsville.
Indiana County 911 reported that Blairsville, Black Lick, Coral-Graceton and Indiana firefighters, along with Citizens Ambulance and the Hazmat team, were dispatched at 1:58 PM to a home in the 200 block of East Chestnut Street. When firefighters got there, they discovered that it was a minor grease fire in the kitchen. Blairsville and Black Lick fire crews got a quick knockdown of the fire before it spread to the rest of the house. Indiana and Coral-Graceton firefighters were cancelled en route.
Damage was minimal and crews stayed on the scene to ventilate the smoke. The family was able to go back in after crews left the scene. There were no reported injuries
