Earlier today, the Indiana County Commissioners were told that Covid-19 cases are beginning to go back up towards levels seen in the spring.
In his Covid-19 update, Indiana County Emergency Management Director Tom Stutzman said that the number of positive and pending cases of Covid-19 continues to increase.
Stutzman added that the vaccination rate for the county remains low. As of today, 38.3% of all Indiana County citizens age 12 and older have received the vaccine. He continues to encourage everyone to get the vaccine as soon as they can.
In other business, the commissioners approved a request from the office of planning and development to enter into a grant agreement with the Pensylvania Housing Finance Agency for $150,000 of the 2020-21 PA Housing Affordability And Rehabilitation Enhancement funds. The money would be used to continue the Roof and Heating Replacement Program the county runs for those age 55 and over. A match of $25,000 in act 137 funds will also go to the program.
