Both the Indiana Area and Marion Center school boards meet tonight, with preparations for the upcoming school year on their agendas.
At Indiana, the board will consider a motion to modify the Health & Safety plan to make masking optional for all students and staff, except when being transported, which is controlled by the state. The plan strongly recommends that those who are not vaccinated, who are under age twelve, and/or are immunocompromised, continue to wear masks.
There are also a few personnel items on the board agenda, including the hiring of two summer learning camp tutors. The second summer session begins today and lasts through August 12th.
Marion Center’s board agenda includes the awarding of the bod for the water expansion project and a proposal for an air quality assessment of the district’s buildings.
The board also has a number of personnel items on its agenda, as well as approval of the elementary and secondary student handbooks and the approval of the cross country teams to take a trip to Hershey for an invitational meet in September.
