Pennsylvania’s gas price average went up slightly over the last week.
Triple-A reports that the average cost of a gallon of gas in Pennsylvania is now at $3.25 a gallon, a penny more than last week and eight cents higher than last month at this time. Last year, during the heart of the pandemic, the average cost of a gallon of gas in Pennsylvania was $2.43 a gallon.
Meanwhile the national average is now at $3.15, which is actually down a penny from last week. Triple-A says that the slight decrease in the cost is due to a decline in demand across the nation. Demand only grew by 20,000 barrels to 9.3 million barrels over the last week. Additionally, total gas stocks saw a decline to 236.4 million barrels. Triple-A expects the average to remain over $3 a gallon for the rest of the summer.
Indiana county’s average is holding steady at $3.28 a gallon. Clearfield, Armstrong and Westmoreland County’s averages each check in at $3.27 a gallon, while Cambria County has $3.29 a gallon and Jefferson County has an average of $3.30 a gallon. The highest average in Pennsylvania is in Warren County at $3.36 a gallon, while Wyoming County has the lowest at $3.15 a gallon.
