It will be an active day inside Indiana County’s Courthouse with several people scheduled for pre-trial conferences and sentencing hearings.
Among those to be sentenced today is Thomas Edward Lindsay, who pleaded guilty to charges of aggravated assault-attempting to cause serious bodily injury and carrying a firearm without a license in one case and a charge of robbery-inflicting bodily injury in another case.
The charges stem from incidents last year. Lindsey allegedly fired three shots at a man on June 23 in a drive-by shooting on Third St. in Indiana Borough and the next day, joined two others in robbing someone at gunpoint in Chevy Chase in White Township.
Also scheduled to be sentenced today are Treazure Toney of Pittsburgh and Izaiah Toney of Johnstown.
They were two of five people in a car that was pulled over September 5th in East Wheatfield township. After the vehicle they were in ran a stop sign, state police stopped the vehicle and noticed the odor of raw marijuana. When the passengers were ordered out of the vehicle, Treazure threw a cup of liquid at the officer and ran away. Treazure was eventually caught by police after half a mile.
During the chase, Izaiah took two handguns out of the car and hid them in the weeds along the side of the road, which was caught on the police’s dashboard camera. Treazure pleaded guilty to simple assault, resisting arrest, harassment and disorderly conduct, while an aggravated assault charge was not prosecuted. Izaiah pleaded to carrying a firearm without a license.
All other charges were not prosecuted.
