Members of the Indiana Registered Nurses Association will hold an informational picket this evening in Downtown Indiana.
The union says in a news release that while there are 270 nurses currently employed at Indiana Regional Medical Center, they feel that staffing levels are dangerously low. The IRNA says the hospital has mandated that nurses work past their scheduled shift, and assigned unsafe caseloads to nurses.
The union also said there has been trouble with contract talks between the two sides, with IRMC giving the nurses union what they called a bad offer and a “take it or leave it” attitude.
The informational picket will take place tonight starting at 5 o’clock at the corner of 7th and Philadelphia St. in Indiana.
