During today’s meeting, the White Township supervisors received a draft copy of a resolution concerning the township’s contribution to Citizens’ Ambulance Service.
Township manager Milt Lady said this resolution has to do with the township increasing their gift to match any other municipalities that decide to contribute to Citizens’.
The resolution was tabled to give the supervisors a chance to read it over. It is expected to come up for approval at the next meeting on July 28th.
In other business, on the heels of the successful application for PennDOT Green Light Go grant money, the supervisors granted permission for township staff to pursue several grants, including a grant for additional multi-modal transportation funds which would be used for the Acorn Street extension project, which is due at the end of the month; an SBC-PennDOT Transporation Alternatives grant for Saltsburg Avenue to provide a sidewalk and bike path to connect Rose Street to Oakland Avenue; and using part of the American Rescue Plan grants for an amphitheater at the White Township Recreation complex.
Finally, supervisor Rich Gallo wanted to remind everyone that the township is always open for public comment, not just at the meetings or in letters to the editor. Gallo said that while those are important, the supervisors can also be contacted other ways.
